Flower Exibition
The first Royal Bhutan Flower Exibition was initated by the Royal Command of His Majesty the King, in the commenoration of 60th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Forth Druk Gyelpo, Jigme Singey Wangchuk. It was inagurated by Her Majesty the Royal Grandmother Ashi Kesang Choden Wangchuck on 1st of April 2015. After that it started flower exibition every year which attracts the number of tourists.
Mushroom festival in Bhutan
The botanical gardens in Serbithang, about 15 kilometres from Thimphu, is becoming a popular weekend spot for Thimphu residents who want to get away from the city. On the weekends, the garden is taken over by families on picnic, couples strolling arm in arm, and children playing around on the lawns. Sometimes there are loners who go to the viewpoint from where the hill drops sharply. From this point one can
catch the afternoon breeze, see the Thimphu chu and farmers working in the fields below and the rising hills in the distance.The 29-acre garden
which was established in 1999 and inaugurated by Her Majesty the Queen, Ashi Sangay Choden Wangchuck, to commemorate the silver jubilee of His Majesty's coronation is still being developed. According to the project manager of the garden, the actual planting of plants and trees started a year later, in 2000. The 29-acre garden has been managed by just nine people.
Goyal Botanical Garden (Serbithang)
Royal Botanical Park is located in Lamperi, Thimphu. This park is the first botanical park in Bhutan andoutlines the scenery of the Dochula pass. Before reaching the park, you will see the hundred and eight chortens of Dochula. We can reach the park by car which is 35 kilometers from the main city of Thimphu. You will enjoy the magnificent view of the journey until you reach the botanical park.The visiting hours of the park is
different in summer and winter. In summer, the visiting hours are from 9 am to 5 pm and in winter, it is from 9 am to 4 pm.
